Automate your sorting, amplify data robustness
Streamline protocols with the EggSorter for fish embryos, including zebrafish (Danio rerio), killifish (Nothobranchius furzeri), medaka (Oryzias latipes), and related models.

More time, more data, more science
Save time, reduce errors, and improve outcomes with AI-powered precision.
80% time release
The EggSorter processes each entity in just 1-3 seconds—increasing experiment efficiency by over 35% and saving lab workers an average of 12 hours per week.
95-99% accuracy
The EggSorter automatically counts every entity, links images to their position in the output container, and provides expression ratios—so your experiments start with robust data.
Standardize your sorting
Adjust algorithms to sort by specific biomarkers or morphological features, applying AI precision to every project—and ensuring reproducible results across experiments.
How does automated sorting work?
Sampling
A rotary wheel isolates individual entities from a batch for downstream processing. The device’s input system ensures gentle handling while maintaining precision.
Screening and Sorting
Each sample is placed in front of bright-field and fluorescence cameras for high-resolution imaging and detailed analysis. AI algorithms analyze and classify each entity based on customizable criteria—such as size, morphology, or fluorescence markers—removing subjective judgment and ensuring consistent results.
Plating
Each entity is gently dispensed into tubes, dishes, or multiwell plates, ready for downstream assays without compromising viability.

Hear about our impact in labs like yours

At the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI), we are using the EggSorter for sorting Nothobranchius furzeri wild type eggs onto plates containing coconut substrate. The EggSorter has proven to be a highly reliable and efficient tool in our workflow, significantly streamlining the egg-sorting process.
We are very satisfied with its performance. The system operates with very high precision and consistency, helping us to save time and standardize a previously labor-intensive step. The EggSorter fully meets our expectations and has become an indispensable part of our daily work with N. furzeri embryos

Our goal was to robotize the sorting of the fish eggs to improve our productivity. We acknowledge the perseverance of Bionomous to solve technical difficulties and successfully deliver the tool adapted to our specific needs. The eggsorter dedicated to Medaka fish eggs facilitates the work of our technicians.

The Bionomous EggSorter saves me valuable time in the laboratory while ensuring accurate and reliable results.
Thanks to its automation, I can focus on my experiments/other tasks without worrying about repetitive sorting tasks.
Beyond Fish Eggs: Versatile, AI-Powered Sorting
The EggSorter’s adaptable imaging and AI classification technology can be tailored to identify, sort, and handle a wide variety of small biological and synthetic entities with speed and precision.
Aquaculture Species
The EggSorter can be calibrated to recognize and sort embryos of other aquaculture species, supporting hatcheries and breeding programs with consistent, high-quality selection.
Plant Seeds
Its optical and AI capabilities can distinguish plant seeds or tissue culture cells, enabling rapid selection for research, agriculture, and breeding innovation.
Hydrogel Beads
By adjusting imaging parameters, the system can sort hydrogel beads and other microscale materials used in drug delivery, biomaterials research, and experimental assays.
