Our team works on the development and commercialization of devices that automatize processes in biology and biotechnology, to accelerate research in fields such as genetics, toxicology, development and behavioral biology, and non-clinical studies.
Our patented technology was originally created to enable the mechanical sorting of zebrafish eggs. However, we are working nowadays to expand this technology to other fields of research, such as Xenopus laevis or Arabidopsis thaliana.

Bionomous Headquarters is located at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland.  EPFL is one of Europe’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan science and technology institutions, with three specific missions: education, research and technology transfer at the highest international level. EPFL is ranked second in Europe in the areas of engineering and computer science according to the 2016 Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities. Thus, it is the perfect space to develop our ideas and build our products.

Bionomous operates from the swiss region of Vaud in the western part of Switzerland. Western Switzerland hosts high-tech competences in basic and applied research. In these fields, the region preserves the links that exist between Swiss and international entities, thus ensuring rich and fertile exchanges.

The region also offers centralised laboratories and state-of-the-art resources to facilitate biomedical research. They are available to the entire biomedical research community and have established many interactions with the industrial and start-up communities, giving the opportunity to companies such as Bionomous to grow and develop.
